FAQs

What does 1.5 ATA mean, and how is a soft-shell chamber different from a hard-shell?

ATA stands for atmospheres absolute, a measure of pressure. This chamber operates up to 1.5 ATA (about 7 PSI), with the pressure selectable from 1.3 to 1.5 ATA so you can choose how deep each session goes. At 1.5 ATA you are at roughly one and a half times normal sea-level pressure.

A soft-shell chamber like this one uses a flexible, heat-welded fabric shell reinforced by an internal stainless-steel frame, rather than a rigid hard-shell enclosure. Soft-shell chambers typically operate at lower pressures than hard-shell units, are lighter and more portable, and are popular for home, studio, and wellness-center use where a permanent hard-shell installation is not practical.

How does setup work, and what about oxygen, venting, and power?

The chamber pairs an oil-free air compressor (72 LPM standard, with a 120 LPM high-volume upgrade available) that pressurizes the chamber with a 10 LPM oxygen concentrator delivering 95%+ purity oxygen. An onboard exhaust system helps manage carbon dioxide buildup during the session, and silent pressure-relief valves keep things quiet.

The complete system draws roughly 1,460 watts total and runs on standard 110-120V power, with a 220V option available. It ships with video setup training and quick-tips guides, plus internal and external pressure gauges, an emergency pressure release valve, a power-outage alarm, and an attendant buzzer so the experience is straightforward to operate.

Who is this chamber best suited for?

This is a lie-down (lying) chamber, so it is best for users who want to recline fully during a session rather than sit upright. The 36-inch diameter and 89-inch length give a single occupant plenty of room to stretch out, and it can accommodate up to two people, though it is primarily designed for single-occupant use.

It suits home recovery rooms, therapy centers, wellness and spa facilities, sports and fitness recovery, and chiropractic settings. The J-style side entry with a top-entry option means it can be operated alone without assistance, and an optional 16-inch elevation platform raises it to bed height for easier entry and exit. Note that this is not a walk-in or wheelchair-ready chamber.

Is hyperbaric therapy right for me?

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is generally used to support recovery, circulation, and overall wellness, but it is not appropriate for everyone and individual results vary. It is not a substitute for medical care, and these statements are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Before beginning any hyperbaric protocol, always consult a qualified physician, especially if you have any existing health conditions. As an authorized dealer, The Recovery Outlet can connect you with a wellness expert to discuss configuration and answer product questions, but that conversation does not replace medical advice from your doctor.
