FAQs

What does 1.5 ATA mean, and what is the multi-pressure valve for?

ATA stands for atmospheres absolute — a measure of the pressure inside the chamber. At 1.5 ATA you are sitting at roughly one and a half times normal sea-level pressure, which is the higher end of the soft-shell range and what most home and wellness protocols target.

This chamber adds a multi-pressure valve so you are not locked to a single setting. You can select 1.3, 1.4, or 1.5 ATA for each session, which makes it easy to ease in gradually or tailor the pressure to how you feel that day. As a soft-shell inflatable chamber, it operates in this lower-pressure range rather than the higher pressures of rigid steel hard-shell units.

How does it set up, and what about oxygen, power, and venting?

The system arrives with everything needed to run: the inflatable capsule, a quick-connect internal steel frame, an oil-free air compressor that pressurizes the chamber, and a 10 LPM DeVilbiss oxygen concentrator that delivers 95% purity oxygen through the included masks and cannulas. There are no oxygen tanks to refill — the concentrator draws from room air.

It runs on standard household power at 1560 watts total, 110-120V (a 220V configuration is available on request). A built-in dehumidifier, air-cooling system, and 5-stage filtration with automatic CO2 removal keep the internal air clean and comfortable, and the whole unit is designed for easy solo operation with no assistant required.

Who is this chamber best suited for, and can I lie down or use a wheelchair?

This is a vertical, single-person chamber designed for one adult to sit upright during a session. It is a strong fit for apartments, home offices, small clinics, and studios where floor space is limited, thanks to its compact 44"W x 55"D x 5'4"H footprint, and it suits athletes, busy households, and anyone building a consistent at-home recovery routine.

Because it is a seated design, it is not intended for lying flat, and the 18"-wide door means it is not configured for wheelchair entry. If you specifically need a lie-down or walk-in/wheelchair-accessible chamber, a different form factor would be the better choice — reach out and we can point you to one.

Is hyperbaric oxygen therapy right for me?

That depends on your individual health, and it is a conversation to have with a qualified physician before you start. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is generally used to support recovery, circulation, and overall wellness, but individual results vary and it is not a substitute for medical care.

Certain conditions and medications can make hyperbaric therapy inappropriate, so a medical professional should review your situation and clear you before any protocol. As an authorized Oxygen Health Systems dealer, we are glad to answer equipment questions, but we do not provide medical advice — always consult your physician first.
