FAQs

What does 1.5 ATA mean, and how is a soft-shell chamber different from a hard-shell?

ATA stands for atmospheres absolute — a measure of pressure. At 1.5 ATA, the chamber operates at roughly 7 PSI (about 52 kPa) above what you experience at sea level. This is the higher end of the range typically used in personal and home hyperbaric chambers.

This is a soft-shell inflatable chamber. The shell is built from high-strength, food-grade 44 oz TPU/polyester with triple- and penta-welded seams, and an internal quick-connect steel frame holds its upright shape. That internal frame is for structure and easy entry — it is not a rigid steel pressure vessel. Because it is a soft-shell system, it is not ASME code compliant; it carries CE, ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO13485 certifications, and the oxygen concentrator is FDA approved.

How does setup work, and what about oxygen, power, and ventilation?

The system runs on standard 110v-120v power (220V is available on request), and includes a 72 LPM oil-free compressor with 5-stage filtration that pressurizes the chamber, plus a 10 LPM DeVilbiss oxygen concentrator that delivers 95%+ purity for breathing during your session. A dehumidifier is included to keep the interior comfortable.

The chamber prevents carbon dioxide build-up by exhausting air through its pressure-relief valves, and you can monitor everything with internal and external pressure gauges. Safety features include a power-outage alarm and an attendant buzzer. Every order ships with video setup training, Quick Tips guides, and customer support so you can get running confidently.

Who is this chamber best suited for, and can I use it if space is tight?

This is a single-occupant chamber with a vertical sitting design, so you sit upright rather than lie down. That upright orientation gives it a small footprint — inflated to 55" L x 44" W x 66" H — which makes it a strong fit for apartments, small offices, treatment rooms, and any space where a lie-down chamber simply will not fit.

The door measures 18" wide by 59" tall for easy entry, and the chamber can be operated alone without an assistant. Note that it is designed for seated use and is not described as wheelchair-accessible or walk-in. If you specifically need a lie-down or wheelchair-ready format, reach out and we can point you to a better-matched model.

Is hyperbaric therapy right for me?

That is a question for a qualified physician, not a product page. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is generally used to support recovery, circulation, and overall wellness, but it is not appropriate for everyone, and individual results vary. It is not a substitute for medical care.

Before beginning any hyperbaric protocol, talk with your doctor about your health history and goals. As an authorized Oxygen Health Systems dealer, we are glad to answer equipment and specification questions — but decisions about whether the therapy suits you should be made with your physician.
