What an upright HBOT session is built to deliver

Breathe up to 95% pure oxygen under 1.4 ATA pressure to support your body's natural oxygen uptake

Support circulation and tissue recovery after training, long days, or general fatigue

Recover in a near-silent, calm environment designed to feel restful rather than clinical

Sit upright in an adjustable lounge chair instead of lying flat — easier on the back and easier to settle into

FAQs

What does 1.4 ATA mean, and how is a soft-shell chamber different from a hard shell?

ATA stands for atmospheres absolute — a measure of pressure. At 1.4 ATA (about 5.8 PSI / 42 KPA), the chamber raises the surrounding pressure modestly above normal sea-level air while you breathe oxygen from the included concentrator. This is the pressure range typical of soft-shell, home-and-clinic hyperbaric chambers.

A soft-shell chamber like the Epsilon uses a flexible, high-strength fabric construction (here, 44 oz medical-grade TPU/polyester) with a sealed zipper, so it stays portable and foldable. Hard-shell chambers are rigid and are typically rated for higher pressures. The Epsilon is a soft-shell, 1.4 ATA chamber — it is not ASME-coded — and is designed for accessible, everyday use at home or in a facility.

How does setup, oxygen, and power work?

The system runs on standard 110–120V household power (220V is available), with a total system draw of about 1460 watts. Oxygen is supplied by a DevilBiss 10 LPM FDA-approved concentrator that reaches roughly 95% purity, while an oil-free air compressor (120 LPM) handles pressurization. An air dehumidifier is included as standard.

Inflation is quick and maintenance is low. You monitor the session using both internal and external pressure gauges, and the chamber includes dual pressure-relief valves plus a patented emergency relief valve. Because the shell is foldable, the chamber can be set up where you need it and stored when you're done.

Who is this chamber best suited for?

The Epsilon is a single-person, sitting-type chamber: you enter through a wide 72-inch zipper opening and recover seated upright in an ergonomic lounge chair that folds 90 degrees and supports up to 330 lbs (150 kg). Many people find sitting upright more comfortable than lying flat. The interior is a spacious 89 inches with four windows, so it feels open rather than enclosed.

It is a good fit for home wellness routines, athletic and muscle recovery, and clinics or healthcare facilities that want an accessible sitting-type option. Note that this is a sitting chamber rather than a walk-in or lie-down model, and it is not specified as wheelchair-ready, since entry is through the zippered fabric opening to the seated position.

Is hyperbaric oxygen therapy right for me?

That's a decision to make with a qualified physician. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is generally used to support recovery, circulation, and overall wellness, but individual results vary and it is not a substitute for medical care. Certain conditions can be contraindications for hyperbaric sessions.

Always consult a qualified physician before beginning any hyperbaric protocol, and follow the manufacturer's operating guidance for the chamber. As an authorized dealer, The Recovery Outlet can help you understand the equipment and what's included so you can have an informed conversation with your provider.
